The heart of the ACiD Collection are the Art Packs released for a ten year period from 1992 onward. Originally zipped collections of ANSI art, they grew to include many other forms, including high-resolution graphics, RIP, music, and writing. Many of the standards applies to artpacks started with ACiD's packs (or "acquisitions"): timely releases (usually once a month), scene and group news wrapped into the pack, and so on. Originally distributed on BBSes through a complicated system, the internet encouraged ACiD to begin releasing absolutely huge packs, with 2000's releases easily dwarfing what had come before.

ACiD also split off art into sub-groups, who themselves released packs: Remorse, the ACiD ASCII-art Group, and Phluid, the ACiD Music group. These are also included in this collection.
