Throughout our ups and downs, ACiD remains as the ubiquitous figure which continues to transcend all scenes, constantly adapting to the new artistic avenues innovated by modern technology, while raising the bar one what is considered to be achievable. Our appreciation and love extends far beyond the confines of the "artscene", if even those boundaries are imagined... _¿y˜yÚ_ $$¿y˜yÚ_ _¿y˜yÚyy yy¿y˜yÚ_ _¿y˜ _¿y˜yÚ_ j$P'`'4$L $$P'`'4$L j$P'`'4$$ $$P'`'4$L j$P'` j$P'`'4$L $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$`````$$ $$XXXXX¥¥ 7$b,. ¥¥ $$ 7$b,.,d$$ ¥¥ $$ 7$b,.,d$$ 7$b,. Kuroi Neko, or Kneko was unanimously selected as the candidate to succeed Protocol, with previous experience as the general coordinator, overseeing the release of the past four music disks. While Protocol has resigned from his executive responsibilities, he will continue to track and has been made an honorary alumnus member. Pinion, musical genius and cofounder of pHluid is also inducted in to the ACiD alumni in acknowledgement of his contributions to ACiD and the scene in general. With the recent loss of her mutant powers of telepathy, ASCII artist Psylocke changed her alias to Jamiesan. yy¿yyÚ_ _¿yyÚ_ yy¿y˜ _¿yyÚ_ mm _¿y˜˜ _¿y˜˜ mm _¿yyÚ_ yy¿yyÚ_ $$P''4$L j$P''4$L $$P'` j$P''4$L yy j$P'`` j$P'`` yy j$P''4$L $$P''4$L $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$XXXX¥¥ $$ $$ $$˜˜˜˜˜ $$ ¥¥XXXXQQ¥¥XXXXQ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$b,,d$â 7$b,. $$ $$ $$```$$ $$ ..,d$â ..,d$ $$ 7$b,,d$â ¥¥ $$ ÌÎÙÀ" "ÙX $$ $$ $$ $$ ¥¥ XXÀ" XXÀ" ¥¥ "ÙÀ" $$ _¿y˜ yy¿y˜˜ _¿y˜yÚyy yy¿y˜yÚ_ $$ _¿y˜yÚ_ _¿y˜yÚ$$ j$P'` $$P'`` j$P'`'4$$ $$P'`'4$L $$ j$P'`'4$L j$P'`'4$$ $$˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ PERMISSION $$`````$$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$XXX $$XXXXX¥¥ $$ $$ GRANTED 7$b,.,d$$ $$ 7$b,.,d$$ ¥¥ $$ 7$b,.. 7$b,. 7$b,.,d$â by "ÙXÀXX $$ "ÙXÀXX $$ "ÙXX "ÙX "ÙXÀ" ghostRider Joining us from the land down under comes Dvandenberg, while Fluctuate futher contributes to the undulation of our Hirez division. Diamond and Discofunk didn't draw designating them deleted from the directory. We weren't sure if we could take Digital Interface and Francis Seven seireiously after they left to draw hirez for another group. Emok is removed too, now the object of ridicule and contempt, electronically of course. Erick Sermon was dis- charged for failing to practice what he preached and we're just as perplexed as you are as to what ever happened to Enigmatic. The Fahrenheit dropped and the Flames went out too. Apparently Sairoku didn't Sphere us the first time when we mentioned something about staying active. A Pariah of the ASCII world, Zerostar turned so Hex Corrupt that even VGA artists Saffron and Tomppa1 have gone in to Remission. Maybe if we took more Sudiphed we wouldn't have caught such a nasty Virex. If you ever see him on the street with his girlfriend, be sure to slash his wrists and Terminator2. BRING THE NOISE $$ "ÙXÀ" ¥¥ XXÀ" "ÙX by t-bob Prepare yourselves, votaries! ACiD's music goons are in full effect! pHluid's been very very busy since the last newsletter. Probably the most significant piece of news is that music disks are once again being released on a regular monthly basis. This has been on going as of October 1999, and marks the most active period pHluid has seen since 1997. As of December 1999, the file naming convention for the music disks has been changed to phluidvvp.zip (volume/part); it is no longer ph-mmyy.zip. The packs released from October 1999 are as follows: - October 1999 : ph-1099.zip - November 1999 : ph-1199.zip - December 1999 : phluid26.zip - January 2000 : phluid27.zip - February 2000 : phluid28.zip - March 2000 : phluid29a.zip, phluid29b.zip - April 2000 : phluid30a.zip, phluid30b.zip A reunion disk is also being planned in which active members as well as retirees will participate. Oldschool to newschool like the Warzone album, baby. The disk should be out in the summer of 2000. The pHluid website has been completely redesigned, and a plethora of sexy new features have been added. A flash intro (by kX^mode), message board, and up-to-the-minute pHluid radio playlists are just part of the fun. A COMPLETE archive of all pHluid music is now fully operational as well. New shoutcast audio streams are also now available: pHluid Radio (http://live365.acid.org:8718, 56kb stream) features a constantly updated mix of pHluid tunes and a variety of techno; ACiD Radio (http://radio.acid.org:8000, 128kb stream) delivers a live shoutcast mix with mostly drum 'n' bass and jungle, cooperatively hosted by Imaje and ACiD Productions. You'll listen if you know what's good for you. Speaking of tunes, pHluid has also made strategic inroads with two MP3 sites. They now have a page on everybody's favorite, MP3.com, located at http://www.mp3.com/phluid. Check it out and watch as they rack up literally tens of dollars in Payback for Playback earnings. Congratulations are also in order to kX^Mode as he hit #1 in the Deep House charts and continued to continually rank in the Top 50 Electronic genre on MP3.com. Riffage.com has pHluid MP3s available as well. Riffage delivers music using Real Audio and incorporates audience participation by allowing them to apply ratings and reviews to their favorite songs. Hint, hint. Helping you fill the hollow void you feel in your daily lives, as of February 15th, 2000, pHluid T-shirts are available, pHluid's first clothing item. Shirt sizes and colors are on display at the ACiDgear Website (http://www.acid.org/acidgear/). You know you want one, because there's no better place to display the pHluid's adopted music dude logo than right across your chest. Ladies, we're talking to YOU. The design is a high- quality print, thanks to our own amazing Goatgirl, who oversaw the printing of the shirts (it is her day job and all). And finally, we have a small change of staff to announce. Protocol has stepped down as Advisor (due to time constraints), and was replaced by Kuroi Neko. We're sure he'll keep everything running just a smooth as a [ed: dung] after a bowl of bran flakes. Until next time kids. Walnut Creek CD-ROM has sold the domain name cdrom.com along with ftp.cdrom.com's server hardware to Digital River. This change has not affected ftp.cdrom.com/pub/artpacks or its mirrors, although the change from "creek" to "river" is an interesting coincidence, don't you think? _¿y˜yÚ_ $$ ˜˜ $$ yy¿y˜˜ _¿y˜yÚ_ j$P'`'4$L $$ $$ $$ $$P'`` j$P'`'4$L $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$ $$XXX $$ $$ $$ 7$b,.,d$â 7$b,.,d$$ 7$b,.. $$ 7$b,.,d$â OUTRO "ÙXÀ" "ÙXÀ¥¥ "ÙXX $$ "ÙXÀ" by ghostRider And thus concludes another chapter in ACiD history.
